First Post and Happy New Year

Hi all and Happy New Year.
I have been lurking on here for a few weeks and thanks for all the great info.
A bit about me: My name is Andy and I am a Brit living in Texas. I currently drive a 2012 LR4/Discovery with the 5.0 V8 engine but ordered a RRS SC Autobiography in early Dec (Jan build date with mid March delivery). I went for White with black panoramic roof and full black interior plus most of the toys and the 21 style 15 wheels.
I test drove the SC and was blown away by the balance of performance, handling and practicality and can't wait to get my hands on my own. I also tried the V6 SC petrol model and IMO it didn't have a lot of character and felt a backward step from the "old" 5.0 V8 naturally aspirated model - I am sure it will be more economical though!

As an aside, I am just finishing a two week holiday back in England and managed to hire a RRS SDV6 HSE which had just 500 miles on the clock (now nearly 1500) and have been hugely impressed with it all round and it is averaging 31 mpg with my heavy right foot, which I am guessing will be about double the 5.0 SC.

Thanks - I was originally quoted end of April/ early May as a delivery date but that quickly changed to early March as soon as I paid my $1000 deposit and the order went into the LR system. The dealer told me that they had just been allocated an additional build slot for a V8 S/C model. It does make you wonder if LR are giving higher priority to the more expensive cars where they presumably make a larger profit.

Opposite here in the UK. Almost all S/C go overseas (to you it seams).
