Battery light on dashboard

For a few days the battery light has been coming on and off intermittently then suddenly after turning off the car hazards came on, windscreen wipers came on and the CD player repeatedly clear he'd for a cd I took the keys out of the ignition immediately. Waited a few seconds and tried to start the car NOTHING no power, so I left the car for a couple of hours and tried again still nothing not even enough power for internal lights please please help

Try checking the battery terminals are secure

Tried the terminals and checked all fuses, how much am I expected to pay for new alternator fitted also is there anything else
Worth changing whilst they have the front end off

Sounds like the alternator has died. From a dealer you're looking at £500+ fitted I would think. Any warranty in place? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
