Well, a small mod I had done whilst the car was in for a service was to install a rear view mirror with a 4.3inch 'monitor' for the reversing camera which was previously installed and used through the Nav screen hack shared by Wiggs on the Disco3 website..

Unfortunately the garage didn't take any pictures of the install. However, the installation of a reversing camera in the number plate light is covered elsewhere and the installation of the mirror is very simple as it has a long wiring loom to allow it to be fed through the headlining.

Basically, I bought the mirror from a company in China (getting to like Chinese products). It has 2 AV Ins one for the reversing camera and one for what you choose. Everything is controlled by the power button including selecting the display and setting up the brightness and guidelines.

Its mounted using the same bracket as the OEM mirror which allows the plastic shroud to be reinstalled giving in my opinion a very OEM look.

Shweeeet! Does the auto dimming feature still work with the new mirror? You know what the Taxi drivers and Locals are like for flashing lights etc.

I don't consider the Auto-dimming to be a priority over the reversing camera so would look at getting the same done.

You can select various mirrors, I selected one with auto dimming and rear view camera monitor (comes with additional video in so you could in theory attach another camera to be selected manually), so yes it still works, there are a huge range of choices for the mirrors, including with navigation, video recording with camera, compass, bt, etc. so plenty of choice to play around with.

I sourced directly from China and shipped via my Aramex shop n ship account there to Muscat. All very hassle free and a good service.
