I just thought that I would share my experience of buying GAP insurance through ala.com.

They come highly recommended by Which, Honest John and a couple of car websites, so yesterday I thought that I would get a quote for my new HSE Dynamic.

I found a 3 year policy with ala.com that covers me for £25,000 and is a new for old policy where they will pay out for a new vehicle even if a new one has increased in price.

I used a discount code which I found online (GAP13) and obtained a quote of £214.20, which for 3 years and the level of cover provided is a pretty reasonable quote. The policy is also full transferable if/when you replace your vehicle and transfer is free.

They also do a range of alloy wheel, tyre, dent and scratch and engine warranty policies, which are also very reasonably priced and the discount code can be used for these too.

For similar cover with MHC (www.gapinsurance.net - Kam, a sponsor on here) they're coming in at around £208 too.

Will take a look at the company you mention as I need to sort something out for my BMW.

I have been looking for gap insurance and Aplan said try Frank pickles so I phoned and for 25k it was £170 and for 50k it was £175.

Bc, isn't your policy from your sport transferable

Those are some good prices! Are the underwriters of the insurance policies based in the UK?
