Hello everyone I apologise this is my first post and I'm already asking questions, my Dad owns a Range Rover sport 2008 and is having problems with his locking system, I own an old mercedes 190e so things are a lot easier for me. But he has asked me to have a look at his car just incase I may be able to repair it for him.

The problem he is having:

When he presses his key fob to lock it will lock the doors baring the drivers door so he will stand there pressing unlock and lock until it decides to lock. To me it sounds like a lazy lock. I've asked him to test the manual key lock to first see if its not something to do with the actual lock.

Has anyone had this problem? What did you do to repair it? Thank you.

There seems to be a common-ish problem with the locks getting a bit "sticky" i had this on mine and had to replace the driver and front passenger locks and they wouldn't lock.

The quick fix is to lock the door from the inside and then close (old skool style) but it may need a replacement (something) how easy it is to fix on your own I've no idea, but someone will be along soon to say I'm sure
