No satnav and no volume.

Hi folks- as per the title, I now have no volume from the stereo and the satnav remains on the land rover screen. This has happened immediately after me swapping the cables in the boot on to a new blue tooth module so I presume the problem is connected. The problem remains if I re connect my original module. My local specialist suggest the new module would need configuring and has probably blown my amp, but that doesn't explain the sat nav. Also my phone no longer recognises a blue tooth device.
Any ideas welcome please-
Many thanks
Neil

All the modules are linked with a fiber optic most cable, that are daisy chained together, if one module is not working then it breaks the chain and thats why your sat nav is not booting up.

On the module you have changed is the orange most cable showing any light through it, the quickest way to see what module is causing the problem is to put a loop in each module to see if the system boots, if it does that module is the one not working.

The module does not need re-programing it should work ok check for the light going in to and out off the bt module, you might have damaged the cables if you bent them to far.

Thanks for the reply. There is still a red light coming from the MOST cable. Although damage to it or the main harness due to my fat fingers seems the mist likely, pretty sure it's not the new module as the old one doesn't work now either, and it was fine before I started messing about. What do you mean by creating a loop?
Thanks again
Neil

The loop is a piece of most cable that just plugs on to the most cable that goes in to the module, its just an in -out for light to travel to the next module, so bypassing the one with the fault.

Have you earthed the new module?.

It's the BT module Mick so no earth bolt. Thumbs Up

Check the fuse for the Bluetooth module, check that there are no bent pins in the module from the big connector.
On the most connector, there is a small blue bit in the middle, you can push that out and then rmeove the most cable from the connector (only remove one at a time otherwise you could get them the wrong way round) double check the cable for damage and then plug it back into the small black connector before removing and checking the other one. Push them both back in and the push the blue bit back in. Then reconnect.
The broken white bit on your big connector, is it completely broken? It could be that it's partly in the wrong position and not allowing the big connector to fully seat properly. Bodsys Brake Bible

Thanks Boddsy; the white bit has completely broken off so I'm pretty sure it's correctly seated.
Could you tell me where the fuse is for the Bluetooth module?
Many thanks- I will get the old one back yo you as soon as I'm sorted!

Just to tie this one off- went to the garage today- when I'd fitted my new Bluetooth module is put the main harness connector back in the wrong way round. Dealer corrected it- re- synced all the modules and all is well- with all the functionality of the new module (thanks Boddsy) so all is well, all for the princely cost of £57!
Happy man again- amazing how much you miss the stereo!
