I change cars (and motorbikes) atleast once a year so swapping plates over is a real pain.

I always put on retention, get new cars log book back then put it on. It does make a longer period where your car doesn't have the private plate on but saves dvla messing it up.

Sent mine last Wednesday and came back on Friday.

Assuming they got it on Thursday, 7 working days for a Transfer and a Retention LCFC. Receiver of threatening letters from Overfinch.

Once a transfer is done, do I need to re-apply for a Tax Disc?

I thought that they sent a new Tax Disc together with the V5.....not the case! LCFC. Receiver of threatening letters from Overfinch.
