Heater Blower problem, resistor?

Hi All,

new here to this forum so as a nice hello I hope someone can't shed some light on my little problem.

Basically, the heater blower has packed in, and doing a little bit of research it seams like the blower ( or final stage) resistor seems to be a common fault. I have bought the new resistor and hunted high and low for a guide on how to fit it. Everything I seem to find sounds and looks very straight forward, but i'm if I can find it on my car (2006 4.2 S/C)
I think all the Youtube stuff is on a range rover, but not the RRS.

Any help would be much appreciated before I go and spend hundreds trying to fix this problem.

I don't think it is a common fault, it is on the L322 Range Rover but not the RRS

Assuming you have bought a blower motor control module (there is no "resistor" on the RRS) then it is located near the fan blower motor, behind the lower glove box. Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

I guess that'll explain why all the stuff I found was on the L322.

One day the blower was working fine then it just made a bit if a weird noise, there was s bit of a vibration for a few minutes then it just packed in. Could it be the blower motor that's gone? 2006 4.2.S/C RRS Java Black

It might be the motor, have you checked the fuse? Fuse FL12 (not F12) in the engine compartment fuse box Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

Ill have a look at the fuses, but what makes me think that it is the motor, before it packed it, it got a noticeably louder and I could feel a vibration through the steering wheel, then it just stopped! 2006 4.2.S/C RRS Java Black

The resistor is in the passenger side footwell, you need to take off the trim on the underside of the dash to access it

It sits in one of the air duct pipes, help in with 2x Philips head screws
