2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Bonatti Grey

Suspension noise

I've got a 2005 2.7HSE. Great car but I'm niggled by slight knocking noises from the front of the car when going over the smallest of bumps. I've read a fair bit of very useful information on this site reference knocking noises but can anyone give me an idea of how to isolate the problem, i.e. ball joints, Anti Roll Bar bushes or whether the complete wishbones should be replaced. I need to get the 4 wheel alignment done, but would like to sort the knocking problem first........

Drive along at 10mph, and jab the brake pedal sharply, if you get a clunk as you hit the brakes, then the wishbone bushes are gone.

If there is no noise, then suspect ARB bushes or links, or front lower ball joints.

To check the ball joints, the car needs jacked up, and a lever placed between the ground and the tyre, and lifted upwards. Any up/down movement will be in the ball joint. If there is no play, then it will be ARB related

My money is on the ARB bushes - sounds much the same as mine did. New bushes and modified bracket fitted while in for service last July. IIRC cost about £270 FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

Bradders - I'm with you on the ARB bushes

But I'm not clear on the updated bracket. When my front ARB bushes were changed at an official stealer the invoice mentioned new clamps but I am interested to know if this was updated design. The bushes we know are definitely updated and are just er.... thicker. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Probably best to get in touch with Dan at Duckworths as the part #s might be different for vehicles with and without Active Roll Control? 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Tried that 3 days ago to get a dash mat (something I read in an old topic here) but he doesn't reply. Clearly, they don't need the money....

Shame really as I would likely have bought more stuff from them if they could be bothered to reply.

I had the same problem. Posted that couldn't find the dash mat on any sponsor's website, Duckworths said £8, but nothing on their website, so had to pay more to get them from ebay
