Might be a sensor issue - the bump might be making the car think it's wayward so it uses the brakes to straighten it up. But as it's not out of line the system actually makes it sway. Be worth checking the ride height sensors, the wheel speed sensors (ABS) and perhaps the steering angle sensor. Maybe the bump upsets the yaw rate sensor.

This is assuming that the suspension itself is all correct (bushes and alignment). 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Wouldn't the sensors being faulty show up on a diagnostic check? I've had a diagnostic test and a upgrade on my suspension to Mach the new air compressor D Ledingham

Sounds the same as mine skittish back end and the odd clunk coming off islands
I have lower arms /ARB bushes /drop links and inner /outer tie rods to change on the front as the steering wobbles at 50-60 mph first
Ho and a drivers door latch to swap over as it locks in stages lol

I'm having the same when I hit a small bump, this can be on the motorway, speedbump or very slightest bump at low speeds. My tyres are to correct pressure and 4 wheel alignment has been done.

I'm thinking bushes on back. Any advise would be appreciated.

ive had all my bushes changed front and back runs perfect now

Do u know if it was the top or bottom ones, or both you had changed.

Bodsey thanks for that, my mechanic suggested that it could be the rear upper ones. had the lower front ones done about 6 month ago, so looks like im ordering the rear ones also.
