RRS: Cam belt/Chain or Timing Belt/Chain... Which is it?!

Hi all,

Newbie here - searched through the forum and elsewhere but see conflicting advice regards whether the RRS has a belt or chain (or both!)

Which engines have which belts and chains, and which of these are 'lifetime' or at the 7yr/105k mark? I'm interested in the 2006 RRS 4.2 Petrol...

Anyone help clear it up for me?

The 4.2L V8 supercharged petrol engine is a variant of the Jaguar AJV8 which has chain driven camshafts.
The 4.4L V8 petrol naturally aspirated AJV8 engine has chain drives.
The 2.7L and 3.0L V6 diesel variants of the PSA/Ford engine have belt drives.
The 3.6L and 4.4L V8 diesel developments of the PSA/Ford engine (90deg V8 block cv 60deg V6 block) have chain drives.

Only the 2.7 and 3.0 V6 diesel belt driven variants have the 7yr/105k limit.
