ADR Approved Bullbar for RRS on it's way

Have just had word from a man on the inside that the first ADR approved front bar for an RRS is on it's way.

No other info as yet re pricing or spy pics but will keep you posted. 'Black Betty' Java Black RRS 07 TDV6

They will be doing what ARB should have done - take a D3/D4 bar and fit it to the RRS - minimal mods are required but for it to be legal the bar with its mods will have to be certified which is where all the work is.

I have spoken to ARB, OL and ECB in the past and asked them why they did not go a certification process for on their bars when they did the D3/D4 certification process. They said there was not the market for the RRS bar - I indicated that was because they did not make one - if it was there, there would a market - make it and they will come. In Aust, the RRS outsold the D3 for a few years around 2007 so the market would have been bigger with the RRS but the makers do not see it that way.

I think that if ARB, OL and ECB had their way no aftermarket parts would be made for Landrover products but thankfully there are just enough around to warrant their production.

I don't understand why ARB/OL etc don't market their bars in Middle East. There is huge number of both Tojo's/Nissans/ plus of course many RRS (more than disco's I think) that if marketed correctly I am sure would be fitted with bars. Crashes are pretty common here, as are parking issues. Plus the odd camel etc Very Happy SWMBO owns this car I get to drive occasionally Smile

Officially nothing - there is no bar that can legally be fitted to the RRS.

Some Opposite Lock dealers are fitting D3 bars as they go on relatively easily but Opposite Lock themselves will not certify the bar for the RRS.

It is very annoying as I want to put a bar on mine but only if it complies and is legal. There are a few who have had them fitted and there are no issues and I understand the ARB bar also goes on easily. Why the makers will not certify them for the RRS due to the cars close relationship with the D3 and how easy they fit is a bit beyond me.
