 I see your logic... ...and raise you.   Back in the 70s, that was very true but these days, the bodies & chassis rot away before the drive train gets end-of-life. Properly serviced, most engines are good for >250,000. In fact, I'd suggest the engines fitted to the RRS are probably capable of >400,000... It's a very British thing to get hung up on the mileage of a car. M | ||

What that mileage might be I don't know but mine had 70k when I bought it and the extensive history file showed that it had had a lot of warranty and rectification work done up to about 40k ish miles... | ||

For me that's too high purely on re-sale. The way I see it, I want to own this for a few years and don't want to lose a load of value when it hits the magic 100k. My original idea was the same as the OP, less than 70k, £16-18k. Loads at that price, but independant garages and private sales and I just didn't want the risk!
