Range Rover Rental and routes

Hey guys,

since I do not own a RR I am really playing wit the thought of hiring one at a car rental service like Sixt and then do a little day trip with it.

Since I do live in London I'd like to ask if any of you know some nice routes around London? Something a little offroad but good for a beginner's level would be cool.

First tip would be to check with the rental company if they are OK with you taking their vehicle offroad.

I doubt they would allow off road use from a standard hire company

Buy yourself a L/R off road day or see your local dealer and see what they can sort out for you, if you have every intention of buying a RRS and can convince the dealer that you are a genuine buyer then who knows, they might offer you an half day off roading experience.

Thx for the input, guys!

I guess you are right and I probably underestimated the damage that could potentially happen to the car... Keep in mind, however, that I don't intend to drive through forests or the like , just a little offroad. Maybe I am a little naive, but I thought that taking the car to a car wash site afterwards would suffice...

I will ask them if it's okay to take the car offroad and if not I will pay my local car dealer a visit and ask there, as Ady suggested.

Below is my first off road experience in my own vehicle on a "non damaging" course when I bought a new D2

Unfortunately on the second photo I got to close to the mound and damaged the side tube - sickened me off when I realised so never taken my RRS's off road (apart from fields with the caravan) particularly as they cost nearly twice what I paid for the D2

I once took a Defender courtesy car off road and managed to sink it to the axle at which point it grounded and got stuck. It took me ages to rock it free but did not fancy explaining to dealer I needed recovering

Had a FL1 second car and did a bit of off roading in that for fun but although pretty impressive not a serious off road LR

Definitely do the LR experience - done them in FL2, D3, RRS and FFRR and they are fantastic and no worries on damage. Just got an invite today and hoping for the new RRS or FFRR next
