stuck in snow

Morning all, I was on my way to work this morning down a country lane at 5.30am when i came across a car stuck in a 4 foot snowdrift, as i couldnt get round, I had to back up a quater of a mile to the junction. So i put it into reverse and set off, i got 20 foot before I got stuck, wheels just spinning, no problem thought I, just put it into snow mode, and away we go.
Wrong: I tried the old forward and backwards trick, but i was still stuck " I dont believe it" I shouted in my Victor Meldrew voice. How the hell can I be stuck in snow, in a Landrover.
I then remembered the DSC button on the dash, pressed it, and low and behold, i could drive anywhere, without any issues at all. amazing, thats all I can say Razz Razz Razz
So my question is, when you choose one of the off road settings, why doesnt the DSC switch off at the same time, why does it have to be done manually Question 07,TDV8,Black, Black Heated leather all round, Rear Entertainment with Headpones & Remote, TV, DVD, Pure Dab Digital Radio, Sidesteps, Adaptive Headlights, sunroof, now working fuel burning heater Smile)))

DOH!!!! Why didn'y you write this before Thursday why I got stuck in a field trying to re patriate a dog and it's owner. Raised suspension and put it in muddy field mode and it did nothing. Had to call my dad to get him to pull me out in his FFRR. How embarrassing. 10 TDV8 Santorini

The DSC button is in the middle of the dash above radio from memory. I have had to turn this off to get out of a very muddy field in reverse! Worked a treat. Even switched it off on our 55 plate Sprinter Van the other day to access a tricky delivery up a grassy bank Thumbs Up
