I've just bought a similar designed "PurpleLine Nemisis Ultra Wheel lock" which clamps to the wheel lug and then has a rod perpendicular to the alloy that goes through the spokes.

I bought a new Alko for mine, and used the old key and bolt on a second new fitment, which means i have a spare Alko No 5 lock going spare, not sure if your van has the receivers or the lock is the right shape

Bradcot is a good make of Awning, my old porch awning was made by them, but i gave it to my dad

Have you thought about what BBQ , I would suggest CADAC

Try Glenmore Camp Site near Aviemore.This is a brilliant site and is right next to Loch
Morlich which has brilliant watersports, a beach that a coastal town would be proud of
and very gentle sloping shallows which are great for swimming with the kids.
All sourrounded by some of the most spectacular countryside in the world!

Luckily my daughter is now 20, been caravanning for years - 20+ towing with an MGB GT to a RRS G4 & laterly now have a motorhome

As Npinks we stick to CC sites for same reason, most have childrens play parks but not a lot else for kids but are very safe Paul

When I am on holiday I like to lie in bed late but hotels want me up and finished breakfast too early as far as I am concerned

We tend to rent historic buildings for our holidays in this country. Lots of room, lots of character, no worry about bad weather, no worries about the sound / smell of being in a tin box with people using the toilet 3ft away behind a flimsy door. No feeling like you're living in a glorified bedsit.

Don't use hotels very often and, if we do, we choose ones that obviously do change the bedding, have decent sound insulation etc. (don't like to keep the neighbours awake ) but are also not too expensive. Our hotel use tends to be overseas where your caravan wouldn't be much use anyway - hate to think what the ferry would cost to get it to New Zealand for example...

Living in a tin box for two weeks is just about my idea of the holiday from hell - I remember being forced to do it as a child; it was horrible then and I see no reason why it should be any different today.

Oh, and hotels don't tend to hold up everyone else on the roads as they are dragged, slowly, along by cars with their arses dragging on the floor because the numpty behind the wheel doesn't understand how to balance the loads correctly.

i was the same, i hated the idea of being stuck on a campsite talking to Fred next door about his gout, but after spending a weekend in a VeeDub campervan, i want one!!

RRSTDV8 - Don't get me wrong - I still like to holiday without the van - we have also rented some fantastic character buildings, luxury villas, gites, canal boats and stayed in some top hotels

I think where we differ is my parents took me on some great caravan holidays when we were kids because they didn't have much money. They were the only holidays we got but you obviously hated them so I guess that's why I still enjoying vanning and you don't

My parents caravan didn't have a shower, hot water and electric either so things have improved a bit

I do draw the line at tenting though having some experience of this in my teens - I prefer my comforts

We have gone in phases with vanning - lived in one for a year when we got married because we were broke then bought a house and wanted to torch the van

Then had kids and thought give it another go - had some great holidays but kids got older and hated it for a while so got rid. Now kids at uni so got another so we can visit them and have breaks just the 2 of us and find a BBQ and a beer/glass of wine in a field watching the sunset is almost has good as a villa with pool in the algarve but a lot cheaper
