The dealer (non LR) had replaced the battery with a LR part before sale, but I'm guessing it's the alternator and the new battery possibly hid the issue? Will get on the phone tomorrow, thank god for the warranty!

The warranty specifically covers alternator & individual claims up to £1k, it's basically warrantied by the garage/dealer I bought it from and they will either do the work or approve costs as I'm not local, will check the battery connectors tomorrow and if still an issue call them & get Guava in Guildford to sort it out, always used them for my FL2 and cracking service...

i'd check out your warranty in finer detail and check that its suitable for a RRS, some warranties arn't worth the paper they are written on
