England 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Zambezi Silver
whining when accelerate and idle

hi all can any 1 give me an idea
i have a range rover sport supercharged its gone in the garage today,when i rev in no gear i get a whining noise and it also whines when i accelerate it sounds like its coming from the left side of the engine help please Bow down

Drive belts ? In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

Not necessarily, it might be the bearing and not the electrics side of things

its usually the Air Con Compressor bearing, you can replace the bearing and clutch set for aboiut £70 parts.

Garage as rang me they Think the noise is cuming from water pump but noise is louder on the charger ?

Alternator.

mine whined away for about 6 weeks and then gave up completely.
no battery drain indicated until it had failed

2 garages looked both could hear it but couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from told me to wait till its packs up

TBH if it is from the water pump then I'd rather not leave it till it packs up Shocked Neutral Confused

Bodsy, if it was the air con compressor, wouldn't it stop if the air con was switched off and the clutch disengaged?

I've try turning air con off noise still there if I change the water pump and the noise still there I've wasted money Rolling Eyes
