First cambelt I replaced, I thought the timing was out, causing it to run a bit odd with the fluctuating engine revs. IT eventually sorted itself out though.

 . It only does it during  cold weather and only when it has been running for say 8-10 minutes from a cold start, goes away when fully warmed up. When I did an oil and filter change recently, I also replaced the oil temp sensor which is screwed into the side of the sump, as I had read of others with this problem,and some have found this cured it. I think it has reduced the fluctuation in revs somewhat, but still not perfect

The coolant temp sensor I believe also works in conjunction with this sensor,so that might also be something worth trying. I definately think it is something to do with the fuelling system receiving duff information at that point in the warm up period.

I hadn't had the problem before the check either but I wanted to have the computer check both on the cold start and on the warm up period - they even took it for a ride with the computer on - nothing. I had the oil temp sensor changed anyway, so we will see what comes out of it.  Thanks again for the ideas, I will keep you posted if something changes. The hard reset is to be done if the uneven idle comes back
