The answer is deeper than the picture in the handbook. Being a fairly stupid version of the species, thought I would cross what looked like a foot deep puddle as we have had an inch or two of rain here in Somerset. What I didn't know was this was a ford and that looking at the depth marker, realised the corresponding height was just over front wheel arches. More by luck than judgment, I emerged from water intact and dry. There is not sign of water in the car at all and air box was completely dry. Truely amazing. I believe the recommended line is the swage line on the door or top of wheel but not tyre. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈

Yes all, except the defender do...but that's not good...working seals=void or air=floats

For a 2007 RRS, the recommended wading depth is 540mm. Note that it is the recommended depth. On later models the depth went up to 700mm. All dpeths are quoted in off road suspension mode.

In reality so long as you keep water out of the air intake on the driver's wing (both wings for the S/C I think) then you'll probably be ok. The doors are double sealed so are pretty good at keeping the water out. Go deep enough, however, and the thing will float but you'll probably have killed the engine by then anyway.

You should note that going excessively deep might pose problems for the long term health of the gearbox and differentials as they have breather pipes on them which could, if the water is deep enough, suck water in to the 'box / diffs. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I had a close call in 2011 during heavy rain while in the New Forrest when I decided it would be fun to cross a Ford having done this sort of thing for years but it was deeper than I expected and flowing faster than I thought too - I was in extended height but it got pretty scary and I would now think twice

No it wasn't me on the tv, mine is blue and wasn't intentional your honor. I wouldn't attempt to take my car off road, it's useless in snow probably due to having road rather than off road Tyres. If it snows the L200 is always weapon of choice.  2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
