Some reckon that the TDV8 can be more economical and the TDV6 due to its extra power, torque and more effortless "efficiency". (A strong man will waste less energy lugging a bag of sand than a weak one). |

Hmm yes you do raise a valid point. Will try to test drive a TDV8 one. Thanks. |

I have a v6 and I find it adequate for the type of driving I do. As for fuel consumption I suppose it depends on what you class as a lot. Mine averages around 27mpg around town and up to mid 30's on a run with myself, the wife, 2 kids plus a ten stone dog on board.

Thats correct, infact it doesn't consume ANY PETROL ![]() @ Nik, i'm very shocked at those figures, your getting more MPG than factory figures suggest, and more than my 2012 SDV6. I'd try and calculate your MPG again ![]() My mapped TDV6 was getting 22 mpg A-B and 26 mpg on a run on a good day ![]() Definately reccomend getting the TDV6 remapped, it brings it alive. ![]() See site sponsor bell auto's http://bellautoservices.co.uk/bas-remap-interface/ ![]() |

TDV6 std was getting 25 round town and 35+ on a run at 80-85, once remapped got 23 round town and 30 to 35 on a run only because the extra power is addictive, id like to see a std tdv8 achieve that, ive got mate with std tdv8 struggles to get 27 on a run and i had another mates mapped tdv8 for a week or so which was a surprise 20 round town but did a couple of M way journeys and got 29 at 80-85, I guess std you tent to sit back and enjoy the journey, remapped you cant help but use the extra power which has consiquences with fuel |

A strong man will use exactly the same amount of energy to move the bag. A strong man can move the bag quicker however. That's what power is - the rate of doing work. The bag requires X joules to move. If you move it at twice the rate then you use twice the power (1 watt = 1 joule per second so doing the same work (J) in half the time (s) means twice the power (W)). Which is why high power cars accelerate faster than low power cars (all other things being equal) Sorry, I'll just get my coat... ![]() 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

A family member of mine has a TDV6 and it is a really nice ride. It is remapped and although better power than before it still lacks power and very difficult to overtake in a hurry especially on a hill - unless your going down it |

Except that the strong man will lift and carry the bag, the weak one will drag it along...
Just got mine off the hanger ![]() ![]() "Roads ? Where we're going there are no roads." Back to the future. |

@ Muddy - If you're talking RRS's, the SDV6 is the way to go |
