Bloody hell Shocked What hit that a cricket ball Question Whoever fits a new windscreen insist it is a genuine land rover marked screen, otherwise it might cause you problems later on should you ever have a warranty claim aginst water leaking in onto electrics etc, You might have to wait a bit longer for a genuine screen though, Any of the top company's should be able to get one though but make sure your insurance company know that you won't accept anything less than a genuine screen, they will try and fob you off with just any replacement. Whistle Hope you get it sorted Thumbs Up

Cheers.

Was hit by a 2.5 inch metal bar from a lorry, closing speed of 120 mph. Didn't see anything until it bounced in the road in front of me, skimmed of the bonnet (making the three dents and scratches) and slammed into the screen. The inside of the glass has been sprayed all over the car, as far back as the parcel shelf. Fortunately I was on my own as quite often I am travelling 5-up.

£100 deductable on the windscreen (being replaced tomorrow providing the garage have ordered the right one!) - it's the marks and dents on the bonnet which is the pi55er.

Unfortunately not - single carriageway and I didn't have the nerve to turn around and drive quick enough to catch it up. And then it would be one word against another. Went back later to try and find the metal piece but, like my lawn, the verge is too overgrown.

I've used a few , auto windscreens and auto glass Both under insurance (£50 excess) and both tired to fob me off with a reproduction part, i requested an OEM LR windscreen and had to wait and extra few days as a result.

Good luck, looks like a sore one Big Cry

I had a replacement from Autoglass and had a small issue with tinting, ended up speaking to the main man at Pilkington Auto Glass who make the screens,he was really helpful.
Stated that the glass is the same for LR and the after market, same production, same products, same stuff different badge.
That being said I later found out it would have been cheaper to get the screen from LR and get it fitted by them rather than going through an after market supplier. Crying or Very sad

Screen replaced through the local dealer (they use a third party). Genuine LR part. Happy (apart from the shards of glass that dropped down the screen vents and are now rattling around).

Need now to get a quote for the dents and scratches on the bonnet.
