Ok guys and gals, we have booked a cottage in Aultbea on the West Coast of Scotland, wife booked it without really paying much attention to where it was, anybody been and could recommend the best route for the RRS from Glasgow. Cheers

There is only 1 route to take!! Go up past loch lomand, and on to the A82 through glen Coe , probably the best scenery in Scotland !, if you get a chance take a trip over to Skye , pretty stunning over there too. You could on the return leg go up to Inverness and down past aviemore on the A9'and pick up the A1 past Edinburgh!

Heres a wee route I took on the bike last summer to just south of where you're headed. Some really nice roads and views along this route, but if you want to cut it down a bit the West coast of Loch Lomond is a nice road also. Id try to keep in Glencoe road not that theres much choice at that point. Applecross is a great place to visit even if you dont go there on the way up but maybe use it as a day out. Nothing prepared me for that sight when we went up a few years back.

Not sure about midgie season..but take some jungle strength anti midgie spray just in case...

Nice drive up the left hand side of loch lomand and beyond in to the ski resort areas, views were fantastic
