Well I've just tried and book my car in to have a megaflush... and the specialists have said the £200+VAT they quoted late last year is no longer valid.

This is due to the Transmission oil no longer being available from their supplier, and they now have to get it from a main dealer at £17 per litre (taking the price up to £450 )

Now, can anyone tell me what the oil is?

If I can source some (17 litres I've been told) then I can supply it and they will then megaflush for the sum of £120+VAT labour.

Is it ZF lifeguard?

Yes, it is the Lifeguard 6 that is required.

It is something we looked into a while ago, and if you search the ZF part no. it is also listed as Hyundai transmission fluid, which was much cheaper than the LR price.
That said, you can now buy a kit which contains the sump pan/filter and required oil aftermarket now

Ravenol have come backto me today.

Their ATF 6HP fluid is the same specification as Landrover's TYK50050 (Shell M1375.4) and nearly £7 a litre cheaper.

1ltr - £10.99

5ltr - £49.45

20ltr - £192.95

There will be a delivery charge but it's still way cheaper than the alternative.
