Bradders, does your policy have consequential damage If so then your alternator may have killed your battery therefore it will be covered

Am I the only one with a 07 TdV8 who hasn't had the alternator pack up.......yet?

How many miles had yours done Bradders?

My MY08 TDV8 goosed its alternator at about 50k miles... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Just spoke to Warranty Direct - they are getting on my t*ts already !!

Unless I take the car the Halfords (no chance) then I have to pay for the repair and claim it back, which can take up to 4 weeks ............

I'm afraid thats the norm these days with aftermarket warranties, just pay on plastic

Did 78k in a 57 plate TDV8 without any alternator issues; done 28k in a 59 plate and holding my breath...

I paid the franchise dealer rate too - up to £200/hr !!!!!.

BTW Farnells reckon its £450.00 plus fitting for the alternator. FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

Ouch! i think L/R should contribute towards the cost as it is well known to be a weak spot on the V8
