Mine are now filled with 100% Nitrogen (Kwik Fit)

I was advised that other than the more constant tyre pressures the gas was friendlier to the alloy wheel itself?
Same as, kwik fit 1.25 corner, will i see frost if get puncture? Laughing

I think Costco did it FOC when it started doing nitrogen. Not sure if they still do though

Do they fit and inflate the tyres in a nitrogen filled room ???? or just in the workshop with all the common or garden tyres that get pumped up using good old fashioned AIR Wink Wink

And now the science bit:
The rubber tyre is like a membrane, through which oxygen permeates three times faster than the nitrogen. The result is that the oxygen slowly leaks out through the rubber walls, and the under-inflation leads to higher tyre wear with a consequent decrease in safety and comfort, and higher fuel costs.

All clever stuff, so when the 6 litres of normal air have leaked out through the rubber the pressure will be stable, so how long does it take for 6 litres to leak out, or to put it another way how soon can you stop checking your pressures, and how do you top up when the tyre place is closed ??
