another silly LR design decision

the battery for the remote heater blipper (which by the way has incredible range - like, to the moon and back) uses a DL1/3N battery which for those unfamiliar with batteries is a 3 volt cell used in cameras and flashes. Which basically means you can't buy it anywhere (edit: anywhere = supermarket, iron monger)

normal, available everywhere:

not at all... they exist.. EVERYWHERE.. but try buying one in a supermarket, or an iron monger i.e. if you need one. Now. TODAY. The places you buy normal batteries from when you need them NOW.....

nearly impossible

and the more I think about it, why not just string two standard 'cell' batteries together if it's so critical (which I doubt)

but not Sainsbury's? who have, literally, an entire battery section including normal 'cell' style batteries?

perhaps if someone can explain the necessity of this particular cell battery in this particular function to me...

(and while they're at it also explain why a lot of the fuses are non-standard too... meaning they aren't available where normal fuses are... Halfords, petrol stations for example - you know, where you go when you have to have them NOW)
