TDV8 engine failure

After changing one turbo under warranty, the second one failed 2 weeks ago. The problem is that, the vehicle is not under warranty anymore ... the dealer want to charge me the new turbo 5.000 $ . Shocked
Is there a way to fix the turbo without changing it ? heard about lubricate or changing the actuator only ...???

as a precaution my local independent sprays the Turbo actuator linkage's with a lubricant to prevent the actuator from sticking, thus causeing the engine malfunction.
There is no way of getting to the actuator or turbo without taking the body off, and that is big bucks Crying or Very sad 07,TDV8,Black, Black Heated leather all round, Rear Entertainment with Headpones & Remote, TV, DVD, Pure Dab Digital Radio, Sidesteps, Adaptive Headlights, sunroof, now working fuel burning heater Smile)))

The second (replacement) turbo should come with it's own warranty - how long ago was it fitted?

Is this a common problem - at a dealers over the weekend he ahd a TDV8 and had just replaced the turbo on it! - Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE G4 Challenge vehicle (FOR SALE)
