United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Lux Orkney Grey

I have owned Land Rover products for more years than I care to remember and so far the RRS has to be my favuorite, if I had to single out a minor 'niggle' it would be the lack of proper interior lighting but so far that's about it. IMHO it is a far superior machine to my previous Discoveries, the first two of which were the most unreliable cars I have ever owned. 12MY RRS Orkney Grey HSE Lux

I went for the RRS rather than a FF Vogue , because to me the RRS when not covered in chrome is closer to the classic in terms of proportions than the FF . 2011 MY- RRS HSE - Zermatt -Ebony-Piano .... its a monochrome world

Well Chris, for me not having to lean in over the lower tailgate to retrieve things and the fact I can open it as I walk to the car with shopping, but then again I did not have an RRS with the spit system so I cant really comment as to if I prefer the single as apposed to a RRS with the split tailgate, all I can say is I am more than happy with mine. 12MY RRS Orkney Grey HSE Lux

Main advantage for old style on RRS is that you can leave top glass section open for dogs to get air during the hot English summers, combined with a lockable Barjo tailgate guard I have the ideal solution for leaving dogs during these hot summer days Whistle

Yes, but that is just 2 days per year, is it really worth the complication? Mr. Green '08 RRS TDV8
I converted my diesel RRS to run on an environmentally friendly mixture of caribou fat and baby seals oil

For me the FF has the best option followed by the split TG sport , not so keen on the new one. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

I can understand it's a bit of a stretch on a FF to get past the lowered tailgate when loading but surely the added benefit of a bench seat when spectating or picknicking offsets that?
In my Sport now I have a fantastic load liner which even covers the inside of the back door so apart from when the dog needs to get in and out I just open the top section for loading most of the time knowing that it won't fall out on the floor and everything is kept clean and dry Thumbs Up MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

I guess, as always, it's down to what you need it for and personal taste Chris. It will be interesting to see what type of tailgate the new FFRR has. 12MY RRS Orkney Grey HSE Lux

Love my electric rear tail..... so easy for shopping and access.... would be nice to be able to close it remotely as well though.... I'm told it doesn't because of safety issues.... but i'm sure it could be fitted with an impact sensor like some car windows have...
In second place I would love the FF split ... it also protects the bumper from all sorts of damage not least of all dog claws... and it's a wonderful place to sit and' take in the world' when parked in a field ... 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's

my perfect tailgate would be:
- split like the MY10
- power open like the MY12 but either upper or whole section choice
- power close

I quite like the fold down lower on the FF and X5, but it can be a pain to reach in

2012 - dearly departed, sadly missed.. to return in late 2013 with a new TDV8!

My perfect choice would be split like the FF but with the top section power open/close to put shopping in Thumbs Up MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

Split tailgate is far better (and the gear stick and lack of chrome) which is why i cants bring myself to the 12MY.

im not too fussed about the electric part...but the split is important Mike
