Why is it people are so gobby behind a keyboard ?..anyway you have been here 2 years seen loads of post and still haven't done anything about it, my spare is still on the car, protected, so as long as people don't protect theres then mine, and all the other protected ones will be fine.

Should the thieving scum be shot, yes, would you leave the car unlocked or a laptop on the seat? No, but an expensive bit of kit slung under the car pretty much going begging with a pair of cutters is so often not worried about, despite so many warnings........

Granted there should be no need to do the protector, but there is, so I aint no mug and I will be keeping my spare.

On the plus side your post may prompt a few who haven't hadnt had a protector fitted to get one.

Gobby from behind a keyboard because a forum is a place to vent and seek guidance and offer assistance not act like a smart arse. If I was aware that it was so easily stolen I would have of course taken precaution. Funnily enough I don't search for stolen wheel topics!!!! You have simply taken this opportunity to show how clever you are by securing a spare wheel in your car. Well done you You can live in your car but you cant race your house

If you haven't ever seen a post on here regarding this topic then I apologise, made the assumption that it happens so many times that you would have seen one.

L888der keep it civil no need to haves go at people, I know your angry as I would be, but this subject has been a hot topic for the last few months, but that's down to others in the same situation and the other fact you might not have been logging in

I'm sure First meant nothing personal by his comment

Speak with RLD protect the new one, Duckworth will sort out the replacement winch, happier days Thumbs Up

Sorry to hear that you have had yours stolen L888DER, to be fair, I dont think firstinretail was trying to be a smartarse, probably more frustrated than anything, that this has happened, yet again despite the warnings on here (I appreciate you hadnt read them), and it has all come out the wrong way! Anyway, I havent even bought my RRS yet, but feel as though I should go and buy one of these protectors already, as I am a very new member to the forum, and this seems to be such a common topic! WTF, as if the repairs bills and fuel costs werent enough to worry about! Rolling with laughter

Hope the thieivng scum end up having 6" nails hammered through their hands!

Did I read correctly that the latest version of the winch as fitted to MY12 etc. does not suffer this problem, the design changed? or did I imagine it? 2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit

Yep, redesigned end of the cable to stop cutters. If same as on D4.
