says we are getting the new 7" touch screen for MY12, but my dealer says not. Or at least, not yet.

Does anyone know what's going on? Will Australia get this soon or not?

COuld be a deal breaker - I was about to buy one. Did the test drive and loved it apart from the screen which I assumed meant I was in a MY11 car.... evidently not.

MY12 has the 7" touch screen here in the UK.

Touchscreen is very good (slightly slow sometimes when entering sat nav info) but generally very good.

I didn't opt for the dual view screen, but i'm sure someone will post their view on that. ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

no 8 speed gearbox - Nope
Still got a gear stick rather than a selector ? nope

hmm smells of a MY11.5+ rather than an MY12 in the European sense, be interesting to hear if LR admit that they are short changing and hyper inflating the price in the Aussie market... - 60,000 Pound for the equivalent of an SE

MY12 in the UK has the larger screen, 8 speed box and rotary dial with the 3.0 SDV6 engine only, the Supercharged still gets the six speed and a stick style shifter.
Apparantly the 8 speed ZX box cannot cope with torque of the S/C  ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Surprised that the 8 speed can't handle the torque of the supercharged engine as peak torque is 625NM whereas the TDV6 has 600NM, not much difference in real life terms!
By the way has anyone got an Aussie 2011 TDV6 and could you advise if yours has DAB activated?

Ok so I may have stuffed up on the screen.

The 5" TFT Screen mentioned in the specification sheet is the driver information centre in the vehicle instrument pack. This is a display where the driver can see the key vehicle warnings and trip computer etc..
 
The 7" Touch Screen refers to the centre touch screen that controls other vehicle information and displays including Navigation, Phone, Audio etc.
 
The actual size of both of the screens has not changed since 11MY however the functionality fitted to the 12MY vehicle is greatly enhanced. 
 
Better connectivity to devices including Bluetooth audio streaming and USB connections. There is also turn by turn navigation on 12MY vehicles which will show specific navigation turns in the 5" TFT screen. New graphics that are clearer, and the ability to option a Dual View screen which allows the passenger to watch a DVD or TV on the centre screen while the driver can only see the Navigation or other controls.

I did what I should have done in the first place and got onto Alto Land Rover at Artarmon. Their response was that DAB is not available on Aussie vehicles.
A bit odd, considering that it has been transmitted by radio stations in Australia for a few years and it appears to come standard in the UK vehicles.
