Yeah, I'm not sure about in the UK but in Cyprus, believe it or not a/c is not standard!

Chili pack adds a/c + bigger wheels and other bits.

They do a lovely set of alloys you can upgrade to called Web Spoke - 205/45/17's

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I've just followed SuperT's link above and then clicked on the colours........ there's one very cool colour down on the bottom right of the colour wheel called
"Transparent", it's really a "stealth" colour that makes your car disappear. Good to see that somebody on the Mini webiste has a sense of humour! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Think I might arrange a test drive for both the candidates.

Who has/has had a Cooper S in the past?

I've read that the Supercharger noise is quite intrusive, more so than RRS/Jag/Merc S/C's

Is this true?

I've driven a RX-8 Lo Power model and it is silky smooth, eerily quiet until you stoke it up (Which you have to do ALL the time!) when it sounds absolutely superb. Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award

I've had both the Cooper S and the Cooper S John Cooper Works. The JC Works was a great car but a little too hard a ride for my taste. The nornal Cooper S is lovely! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

A guy who's seeing one of Mrs ST's friends had a works and thought it was great - but uncomfortable and noisy.

However, in the mood and on the right road it was an absolute hoot!

New Cooper S now has 170 bhp instead of 160 on earlier ones.

BTW if the roads in Cyprus are crap don't get the Works! Especially if you get the sports seats, they're uncomfortable as hell and you have to have the side air bags deactivated! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

For the Cyprus roads you might want the 16" wheels and tyres, much more compliant The usual wheels on the Cooper S are 17" which are crashy, the 18" (Works wheels) are terrible!

Yes there is supercharger noise, but it's part of the charm Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

My best mate bought his good lady a Mini Cooper (NON-S) Cabrio and opted for 17's

He said that he thought the same. Test drove the 16's and like me, was swayed by the look of bigger wheels. Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award
