Intresting

Ive stole this off another forum, thought i'd share and see how many of you had better start counting your days Laughing

Interesting chat with a guy !.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The other day whilst visiting I was introduced to a very healthy looking American guy in his early 70's.

He is a multi, multi US $ millionaire and he along with 9 other business partners own one of America's largest pharmaceutical companies who research and manufacture medical drugs, medicines, creams etc.
His whole working life has been devoted to drug & medical research and he is still working & very much involved in his field.

I realised that you don't meet people like this very often (if at all) so I was firing away questions and must admit the guy was one of the most interesting people I have ever met.

I thought I would share some of the interesting "facts" that he mentioned.

(remember, this guy has been involved in a life time of long national surveys to provide answers).

1. There is NOTHING that will make people look younger in the form of application of creams and all that rubbish. A "$3" tube of moisturizing cream will provide same results as all the expensive ones.

2. If a persons genes say a non smoker will die of cancer at 31, the person will die at 31.
If a smoker lives until 94, he will, as it's nothing but his genes that decide that.

3. There are measures one can take to hopefully provide a longer life with the most important being their diet. NOTHING else, your genes will sort out the rest.

4. (I then asked him, " In one sentence what would you suggest is the best thing a person can do for a healthy life?"

He gave me a one word answer "Breakfast", and heres why.

People that don't have a breakfast at the beginning of every day will get up, have a coffee or tea, then go to work. Some may have something to eat around mid morning, others will wait until lunch time.

They will feel fine, they won't feel ill and everything seems good. Remember, this is a pattern over a whole year and every year after.

Reality:

You have been functioning and working throughout your 6 - 9 hour sleep.
When you wake, your body is expecting fuel. The new fuel automatically starts your natural system of braking down the food and supplying everything required.

No breakfast and you will feel exactly the same BUT all your organs and now working hard supplying you with what you need to function properly.

You will feel fine throughout your 30's, 40's & 50's. Within you 60's you will start having problems as your organs have spend a massive chuck of your life overworking, and things will start to fail.

This guy has been involved with 100's of long term surveys conducted by intelligent students and all suggest the same results across a diverse range of different ways people go about their general day and life pattern.

May be worth remembering guys Thumbs Up

point 2 is a load of Censored , smoking causes cancer, if you smoke you increase your risk of death, regardless of your genes !

point 3 contridicts the whole gene argument, and exercise is as important as diet.

point 4 would need to be more specific, a full english every day is not a good idea.

not having a go at your post, but the whole debte on this type of topic, is a long and very argumentative one Smile

.....but they work, here we are discussing what could (and probably is) be utter BS.........I love these "I was introduced", "I met", "I was told".....great little viral fables that in all honesty, you, I or whoever could create and like the conning palm readers etc, somebody will relate / believe it happened to them / knows of someone etc etc.

Great to read as obviously some imaginative work there.......but far too crude and generalised to be believable. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

Obviously aiming for those who think that when your number is up, it's up!!
You have to wonder why some people can go through life abusing themselves with drink, fags, drugs , food, whatever (most of which I am partial to Whistle ) and still live till they are 90 and yet you get kids with leukaemia who have done none of the above. Life is just not fair at times!!

Correct. Life doesn't do fair/unfair because the Universe doesn't care one little bit. Our existence is just the sum of a series of probabilities. And for some people the numbers just go the wrong way...

Or, to use the vernacular - " Censored happens; get over it". 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
