Unlucky!!??

Two weeks ago I had a big stone chip impact that instantly cracked. New screen required and £125 excess to pay. Ah well, at least the rest was covered by insurance.

Today, driving to work, BANG! another stone impact. Thought I'd got away with it. Went back to the car two hours later to find a 4 inch crack. This doubled in length during the day as I was driving the car.

Booked in for a replacement screen on Wednesday. And another £125 excess to pay.

I wonder if the insurance company will get annoyed if it happens again in another two weeks...! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Thought had crossed my mind to leave it but this time the crack is running across my eye line when driving. Too annoying to leave (and would get a slapping from plod if they looked at it for any reason). The previous crack was just above the wipers (having started below the wipers, travelled upwards a few inches and then turned horizontally across the screen). Would have left it but the edge started to flake where the wipers were running over it so it had to be done.

I do wonder if the heated screen is less resiliant than a 'normal' screen. Had monster stone impacts over the years without cracks forming. Maybe it's just a luck thing though... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
