2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Bonatti Grey
Spare wheel mechanism damaged

Last week some prick attempted to steal my spare wheel. Seems they cut the end off the cable that holds the wheel in place.

I was out of the county and a relative then wound the cable back up, but from looking at it, they wound it all the way into the mechanism. I guess I need a whole new unit.

Any idea of the cost of this?

Its just the mechanism I am after - I still have the spare wheel... brother in law was quicker than they were Whistle

I had seen the ebay ones, but thanks for the link to the LR one at £60-odd

yes, they did it in broad daylight (lunchtime). Sadly they got into a waiting car and sped off before he actually got to them.
