Replacing front anti roll bar bushes

Anyone replaced the front anti roll bar bushes themselves?

Got an advisory on the last service that they needed doing. Picked up a pair from the local parts dept for £24 and did a search on here and Disco3. Couldn't find anything on here but D3 had a good write up and looked dead easy Thumbs Up .

Got under the car to find that the clamps are mounted differently to the D3's (not sure if its particular to the TDV8's?) and I cant get a spanner or socket onto the bolts Banging Head . Some further searching on t'internet says I need a "special Land Rover tool " which costs £300 Shocked

So....anyone done it without the gold plated tool?

Failing that any ideas how much LR will charge to fit the bushes or recommend a good indy that could do it near Kent / Essex / SE London?

Thanks Rob TDV8 now with extra grin factor thanks to Alive Tunning: Gone but not forgotten

Changed mine with a ring spanner Question 13mm rings a bell. One side is a bit more awkward because you need to move a small box out of the way.

According to your profile yours is the TDV6 which has the same set up as the D3's. Thats what I based my initial plan on to find the TDV8 is different Big Cry

Really hoping someone can help as I'm not afraid of a spanner but can't see a way to do it! TDV8 now with extra grin factor thanks to Alive Tunning: Gone but not forgotten

Thanks for that Bobby.

I can see why I can't get a spanner to the bolts now and why it needs the "special tool"

Got a quote today from Essex 4x4 for £144 to fit the bushes I have already purchased. Looking at that guide I think I will go with it. TDV8 now with extra grin factor thanks to Alive Tunning: Gone but not forgotten

Not got it sorted yet as I was hoping to get it done on a Saturday while I waited but they want the motor for the day during the week.

As they don't do pick up and drop off of the motor I have to find a way to get it over to them and then back in the evening to pick it up. TDV8 now with extra grin factor thanks to Alive Tunning: Gone but not forgotten

UPDATE

Well I was struggling to find a way to get the motor over to Essex 4x4 for the day without being stranded in a foreign county for the day Laughing

Gave my local LR dealer a call (Beadles of Sidcup) for a quote for fitting the bushes i purchased from them.

£155 inc vat Shocked So only £11 dearer and they will pick up a drop motor back for me. I would have spent that going back and forth over the Dartford crossing the 4 times along with the fuel.

Booked in for 30th Nov Thumbs Up Thumbs Up TDV8 now with extra grin factor thanks to Alive Tunning: Gone but not forgotten

Good result - not sure how a dealer can match the prices of an Indie. Perhaps their knowledge and access to the correct specialsit tools makes the job that less time consuming?
