Before you retrim the wheel (assuming it isn't cut or ripped) try cleaning with gliptone and then applying gliptone leather conditioner. My wheel looked dry in places and was sticky in other places and the gliptone brought it back to (almost) as good as new |

Thanks for the tip, will look into that product. The wheel was a bit 'sticky' so tried to clean with warm water and ended up with a bucket of black water and still a sticky wheel! |

Gliptone should sort that for you. Clean the wheel 2 or 3 times following their instructions and use an old toothbrush to work the cleaner into the grain, after you apply the conditioner it should feel and look 100 times better |
