2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 S Zambezi Silver

Know where you are coming from on the price thing, I stopped at Michelwood services on monday and stuck just enough in to get back here and it was nigh on £1.50 a litre.

Luckily I only pay 20% of my motoring costs, the rest of it comes off the bottom line, swings & roundabouts, not good for profit margins but keeps it from the tax man ! or not depending on how you look at it Rolling with laughter 08 2.7 RRS "S"

I have yet to fill my RRS i only got it about 2 wks ago (been away working to use it) this has crossed my mind whether to use shell v power diesel or normal diesel (shell, tesco, asda) 2.7 tdv6 which has been chipped by LR. I had a high powered nissan skyline gtr and only ever used v power as it was mapped for it, i did try tesco 99ron as it was closer and car ran rough, not had experience with diesels.

2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Bonatti Grey

I tried the Tesco 99 ron stuff... engine threw up the reduced engine performance warning that only cleared after about 8-10 miles of driving (50mph on dual carriageway)... not sure if this was some readjustment by the ECU that cleared it, but I have never used that fuel since.

My S/C always gets super unleaded rather than regular, but not overly fussy where it comes from - supermarkets or main brand fuel stations (I avoid the small franchise stations I have never heard of!)

totally agree. I know lots of people have lots of 'examples' of bad experiences, but I can't help thinking they are putting 2 and 2 together to make 5. Or to put it bluntly, convincing themselves they are seeing a difference for the extra pennies spent emperor's-new-clothes stylee.

the question that should be asked is where do the supermarkets source their fuel from? ============
2010 TDV8 HSE - ooo laa laaaaaaaaa
2007 TDV8 HSE - superb car and very reliable

2012 - dearly departed, sadly missed.. to return in late 2013 with a new TDV8!

I'm thinking the same due to the amount of Bull Censored surrounding me atm Whistle Whistle Laughing

The quality of fuel does go up and down, depending on age & storage etc, diesel is prone to bugs and diseases as well !
With the 110 which has been chipped to within an inch of exploding and variable boosted I had to put nasty stuff in it as there was nothing else around for miles and it ran like a lump of poo, missing and coughing, got red hot etc, got that crap out of it and within 2 miles it was better.

With me bike which has got a Dynojet Power Commander on it I cant run it at it's optimum settings on the ECU due to detonation and temperature problems but put nice petrol in it + a bit of octane boost and it runs like a Swiss watch albeit a very noisy watch mind. When it was originally programmed on the rolling road with decent fuel it was making a pant filling 200.2 BHP at the rear wheel and on full chat with the cam verniers set right looks like it's got an after burner with a foot long blue flame coming out the exhaust....... 08 2.7 RRS "S"
