Music streaming advice

Anyone into home music streaming? Ive been looking at playing music over our wireless network at home but dont like the look of the Sonos stuff. Weve about 30gb of music in iTunes so streaming this seems sensible.

All the reviews seem to like the Logitech Squeeze Box, attached to some active loudspeakers. Any advice appreciated. Thumbs Up FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

I have the logitech squeezebox duet and boombox. Both work really well and you can control them via your iphone if you have one. Must admit though, sometimes it can be a bit frustrating when they disappear from the network. Don't know if it is my router as I'm having more general problems with the connection dropping or whether it is the logitech.

I have the duet plugged into my home cinema system in the lounge and the boombox is in the kitchen - you can play the same music on both or have different music on each. 3.0 SDV6 HSE Dynamic, Corris Grey with contrast Santorini Black Panoramic Roof, lunar interior, privacy glass, upgraded Meridian system, cooled 18 way front seats, heated steering wheel, adaptive xenons, large screen wash bottle.

Gone: 3.0 TDV6 HSE, Santorini Black, Ivory/Lunar interior, grand black lacquer finish, HK Logic 7.1 Surround, Privacy Glass, Adaptive Xenons, heated steering wheel.

Gone: Jaguar XF Luxury, Pearl Grey, Dove Interior

@alanad - Am i right in thinking the Duet simply plugs into an existing amp and thats all you need to stream from a Mac ? FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

Get a couple of airport expresses, plug them in next to the amp you want to stream through and connect with a 3.5mm jack to phono cable. Your mac will automatically id and configure the expresses and then you can stream to them from your mac/ipad/iphone.

Also can use your iPhone/ipad as a remote to control the whole system. Currently have 3 expresses and an apple tv and the system works perfectly. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Nick - there is a setting to use. I think it's called 'interface robustness' and this will stop the microwave interfering with the signal. It does slow the data transfer rate but if all you are doing is streaming then you will see no difference.

I have 4x in the house and haven't looked back since. Certainly beats running ,000s of cables and I can control everything from my iPad or iPhone. Brilliant and cheap.

Had a look at the Apple stuff and went for the Squeezebox in the end. Really easy to set up, expandable and reasonably priced. Thanks for al the input - harmony has once again been restored to the Bradders household! Thumbs Up FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy
