When i was on a LR experience day last week, the instructor said the freelander is underestimated and a very good car, but i'm not sure how you could compare the two side by side, Nick will be along soon (npinks) to give you his view he's got a freelander |

I was going for the FL2 and tried it out at the Landrover experience also tried out the TDV8 RRS and bought the RRS both are great cars but I was looking at £45k plus to buy a FL2 of the spec we wanted and that was firmly in RRS territory. Ended up spending a little over £60k on the RRS ( and I have bought houses for less |

I think the FL2 is under estimated by those who drive a D3/4 or the RRS, its a great car for it's class, which is not competing with any other LR car, though at the top end HSE your in entry model D4 and Evoque territory

Ha Ha Ha, I would rather drive my Td5 110, stinking of cow and sheep droppings than the Freelander, had them as curtsey cars, one was an Eco warrior and the others where top of the range, on the 110 I expect the engine to be rough and tough and sound like it's capable of powering a trawler, but I dont expect the same experience from what could be marketed as a luxury car.

Once you've got used to a D3 or RRS then the FL2 feels a little "lightweight"
