For those who visit rangerovers.net, you may have seen me embark on this project at the end of last year. Here was the project thread:

And here is the conclusion of this project:

I did more custom tweaks than I thought I would; the latest (and last) one involved replacing the OEM amber side lenses in the headlights with a clear version. This is a common mod, but most people just cut a flourescent light ceiling tile and put that in place of the reflector. I didn't like that idea, so I thought I'd give silicone mould making and resin casting a shot. I cast a set of clear replicas of the OEM amber lenses:



And put them in the headlight case, along with painting the graphite colored lens body white to match the Rover:



Then, I painted all the parts:

Looks great You obviously are lucky enough to have the skill to do this yourself! I'd be terrified to attempt something like that on my car.

I personally would paint the grill finns black to match the lower air intakes, but a very nice clinical job you have done there. those headlights look very professional as does the rest of the car.

To answer the questions/comments:

1) LED HALOS are Umnitza Orion LITE; 120mm lo beam; 106mm hi beam. Lightwurkz sells these - and has a prepackaged RRS kit that they sell on Ebay that I thought was too small - so I asked them what alternative diameter options they had, and went with these. I think their intensity is just about right.

2) I thought it would be true to the Range Rover name to keep the lettering. I even reused the original lettering (it's easy to simply reapply 3M double-sided tape to the OEM lettering, rather than buying more).

3) I intentionally did not color-code the PD sensors; I thought it would be too much white (I don't mind the black contrast), and I didn't want anything interfering with the signal. I also intentionally left the headlight washer jet bodies black for that same reason - all a matter of taste, though.

4) It's an interesting idea to paint the grille black, and I had thought of it. I felt that I would have to paint the letters and side vent bits black as well if I were to do it, though, and then there's the problem of the wheels being silver, so I thought I'd leave it black. For now.

If I get tired of it later, though, those are options. I even kicked around a matte black for those parts, as well as the wheels, but I would ring the lip of rim with Chawton White. That might look really good.

That's a while away, though: right now, I'm just going to enjoy it as is!

Halo's do look cool. Well the whole car looks pretty good to be honest. i'd love a white one.
