Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

Ask the dealer to check the TSB for the seat base, it was quite common on 08 and early 09 models

Ok now I'm starting to get depressed, it has been my dream to get into a sport for ages and I should be happy and joyous, but I'm starting to get p#%*d off now.

Just been out and parked at the shop so thought I would see if the front parking sensors were working, and the answer is not very well.

So I came home and put a large cardboard box in the road to drive up to and test the sensors. Well firstly the experiment failed as it is so windy here today that the box blew away Laughing

So I put some ballast in the box and that was fine, so the experiment began and my findings were as follows.

If I drove up to the box at walking pace I could hit the box without the sensors working. As soon as I went into reverse the front sensors started working. So I reversed right back and tried again, same result as before.

I then found that if I drove to within a couple of feet of the box where the sensors should start working then stopped, put the car in reverse but without moving back then selected drive again the sensors would come to life and start working again as they should.

But if I reverse right back 10 or 15 metres then drive forward again the sensors fail to work again.

I hope the sales manager at Guy Salmon Bristol is having a nice Sunday off as he is going to get it both barrels in the morning. They will have until Friday to do everything or it goes back for a full refund.

So this is how the "new" PDC works.
1. U must choose R (revers) and then D (drive) the PDC turns itself on, when
been parkered!
2. for the PDC to work without using R (revers) U have to use the fascia front
parking aid switch. youre speed has to be below 16kph(10mph)

I can cross this off me snagging list now Very Happy

Well at the moment I am doing all this writing on an iPhone as I have just moved into a new office and taken my Pc there. Plus as I'm not sure everything will be sorted I don't want to take photos of a motor I might not own this time next week.
So if they sort out the issues this week I will get some photos up next weekend

Well the saga continues.
TH whites has had my car today to try and sort out the jobs that Guy Salmon should have done before they sold the car. I have asked for the work to be done there as they are local to me and looked after my D3 very well. Guy Salmon is 40 miles away and have so far been less than impressive.

However it seems that more needs to be done to put the car right than was first thought. The electric steering adjustment, memory seats and electric mirrors is not a fuse problem, it is a memory module that is knackered and will cost a bit to replace and audio unit needs to be replaced as well.

So now I got to wait longer while Guy Salmons decide wether they want Whites to do the work or not, and I'm still waiting for the detailing work to be completed as well.

So almost a week of unhappy ownership under my belt, not very impressed at the moment, it would seem the the pre sales check either didn't happen or the identified problems were not rectified befor the car went on sale. 2017 Range Rover Sport Autobiography

My sensors come on when the vehicle speed drops to around 5mph and you are on the brakes, like when manoeuvring into a parking space. Doesn't sound like yours are operating properly.
Possibly the previous owner had them changed so that they no longer work automatically - I am sure I have seen a thread about that - as it can be disconcerting to sit in traffic and have them beep when cars drive towards you.

Hope you get everything sorted soon Thumbs Up

Well day 13 of RRS ownership and I'm not at all happy. Guy salmon sales chap collected my Sport on Tuesday and left me with a Defender saying that all being well I would have my Sport back later that day.

Now Saturday 5 days on and I still have a defender and they still have my sport. Apparently they are having problems getting the software to load back up on the car and it will be at least Monday before I get it back if I'm lucky.

I was offered a freelander yesterday but that is not much better than the defender and still not a RRS so as i have customers to take to the races next week Salmons are bringing me a loan RRS on Monday.

After 3 days of asking to speak to the dealer manager i got his call this morning, very apologetic and promising to resolve the problem.
But my beef is that on Monday I would have owned this RRS 14 days and for 8 days it has been with the dealers to sort out issues that were brought to light on handover.

I told the manager that this car should have never been offered for sale like this as I was under the impression that under the approved Landrover used car scheme all vehicles should have a multi point check, this was clearly either never done or the results not acted upon as most of the issues were found on handover of the vehicle.

In fairness to the dealership they have offered to buy it back, but that would leave me without a car, I paid for seat covers that would be no good, a years tax and I would lose money on cancelling the insurance not to mention all the hassle of going through the process and ending up with no car when I can't afford be without one.

I am feeling very down about this at the moment. It's turned into a complete nightmare. Even the other half is unhappy as being quite short she has to climb into the Defender and hurt her ankle dropping down out of it the other night. I just have no confidence in the car or dealer at the moment.

I was offered a free service by way of compensation but I am not happy with that and have asked them to compensate be by extending the warranty on it for a second year as it worries me that I will get stuck with some major bills after the first year warranty expires. They are coming back to me about this. 2017 Range Rover Sport Autobiography

IMHO you'll never be happy with it given the sour taste it has left in your mouth.
Let them have it back and look for another one from a decent dealer.
You should be over the moon with your new car and the insurance can be just frozen until you find a new one which shouldn't take long. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

I would hand it back too, you can get a refund on your tax minus a month but ask the dealer to compensate you for that and search for another, as chris has said.

If they will not take it back, then insist on having Extended warranty at their cost and free services over the next 2 years reguardless of milage. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

I got my car back last night, had it for an hour and had to get the tech to collect it again, lucky he only lives a few miles away from me. I got in it and drove it round the block to find I had a airbag fault light on.

So I have their new 2011 HSE sport demonstrator again while they sort the faut out. They say it's something to do with them having the front seat out when they sorted the slight seat movement. So I should see it tomorrow now but the service manager wants to make sure it's perfect before they hand it back.

They have done everything else though and it is immaculate inside and out, every job I asked to be done is sorted, and I have a brand new audio system as well.

I asked for the waranty to be be extended a further 12 months as compensation for all the hassle and they have done that along with Land rover assistance, so I now have a 08 RRS with a full 2yr warranty and recovery.

I'm pleased that they kept to their word and sorted everything without cutting corners and have given me a new Sport as a courtesy car. I hope we are on the last hurdle now and I will have it back for the weekend. 2017 Range Rover Sport Autobiography
