Running them in convoluted trunking along the snorkel body (windscreen side) in through the bonnet would be my suggested/recommended route - you can clip the cable to it and place a connectable plug to allow removal.

Isn't there a G4 owners club? I've seen them all camping together at the various LR shows in the UK.

The cables are routed alongside the windscreen under the plastic pillar cover, through a small cutout in the end of the roofrail trim, under the trim to the first blanking hole, through that hole and into the plastic end trim of the roofrack mounting rail, from there they pop out through a drilled hole onto the rack.
