Couldn't Resist

I was attending a meeting earlier this week at the Carden Park Hotel near Chester and after the plenary sessions had (finally) closed went for a wander. I discovered that they had an off road circuit in some woodland at the back of the hotel. So I had to take my very clean and shiny RRS for a bit of a spin. I took a couple of snaps along the way, but nothing that exciting as there was only me and I couldn't really hop in and out when half way up/down any of the major obstacles.

All managed well with normal part worn street tyres at normal pressures...

First picture is right at the top of the course, nothing too muddy yet and everything is pretty much clean and shiny still.

Then this one was taken after I had cleared the mud obstacle, which was basically a steep descent into 12 inches of mud and water with a steep ascent on the other side, literally just enough space for the car to rest in the bottom - needed extended mode in the suspension to get enough traction to climb out...

So much fun was had and the car looked fantastic covered in s Censored t, the sad thing is that I have now cleaned it I can see lots of little scratches on the body work and also the wheels - a couple of dings taken out of the rims as well Sad

Anyone know the best way to polish out these minor marks (I think it's all in the topcoat)

Hi Nick

Super Resin will work on the wheel as well (not the bits eaten by rocks obviously)? I have gathered quite a collection of fine scratches on the faces of the spokes of the alloys and don't want to get them refurbed just yet.

Re AT type tyres I'd suggest Pirelli ATRs, for the discerning occasional offroader. Thumbs Up

I converted my diesel RRS to run on an environmentally friendly mixture of caribou fat and baby seals oil

you could always do a bit more off roading before you polish everything back up again... Smile or is it to late for that. Porsche Cayenne 2022

I have spent probably over 20 hours cleaning and polishing out all the scratches from this excursion. Will be repeated very soon but this time with ATR tyres Very Happy

Eventually will probably go for bodyshop treatment as polishing out scratches by hand is seriously f Censored ing hard work!!
Thumbs Up Autoglym paint restorer as this has removed the worst of the scratches and allowed the SRP to work it's magic...
