I have purchased an after market tyre pressure monitoring system.
It comes with a cigar lighter plug, I would like to hard wirer it in.
I would like to situate it above the rear view mirror as it fits perfectly and is not in the line of sight all the time, therefore the wire would fit just right, up into the roof lining along with the wires from the rear view mirror.
I need to know if this can be linked into the positive and negative from the sun roof switch so that it turns on when the ignition is switched on.
Here is a picture of the cables for the sun roof switch (green, red, yellow, black), I am taking an educated guess that the red and black would be the positive and negative (respectively), but wanted confirmation before I proceeded.

Any help would be very greatful...and...will it work?

Martin, my RRS is not fitted with the TPMS and I have no idea how to install an aftermarket one.

However, I think a proper Wiring Diagram of the original TPMS might help you decide which way to go about it.

Ideally need to know which is the positive and negative cables from the sunroof switch so I can splice into them to give power to my aftermarket Tpms. Any ideas out of the four cables shown in the pic? I am thinking red and black cables...

I think you might be right.
The green and yellow wires would be controlling the open/close function and that leaves us with the red and black.

Would you want me to look for the wiring diagram for the sun roof? Malaysia Boleh!

I have no idea what it would involve for you to look for the wiring diagram for the sunroof so wouldn't want to put you out by asking for it. I have had a look around the web but can't find it. I am happy to buy a tester and figure it out if you don't have it.

Right, tools ready, wiring diagram ready, but just hesitated and thought I would ask first instead of making a mistake ...
I am presuming that power to the sunroof switch is constant whilst the ignition is on and by pressing the sunroof switch this completes the circuit to send power to the sunroof opening control module.
Therefore by linking my aftermarket TPMS to the positive and negative wires going to and from the sunroof switch this would give the TPMS power whilst the ignition is turned on.

Does this make sense and do you think it will work? I am willing to try but please stop me if you can see a big problem with this or I am incorrect in my thinking ...
