Delivery of my Autobiography

Really Censored off!

When just about to order my Autobiography I was told "mid March", then when they cashed my deposit cheque i was told "mid April", after picking up my current RRS for final service and touch up ready for sale tomorrow I am now told.....19th May!!!

What (if anything) can I do about this? Who should I be directing my grievance at? LR or dealer?

Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Have a look at any contract/ order form that you signed on ordering and see if there is any delivery date mentioned, if there is and it is specific and before April, then go and shove it up their nose and demand compensation. Your contract will be with the dealer not LR (unless the dealership is wholely owned by LR, if it is Stratstones then you won't have much luck as they aren't part of the trade association) 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Don't get your hopes up - it says "estimated" ....................... not "will be", it is all down now to what is a "reasonable" delay. Maybe you should ask then when they actually made the order - I bet they didn't make it on the day that you ordered the car...... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I wonder if this has had anything to do with your delay?

When there's only 6 months between new regs I dont think 2 months 19 days is acceptable....

Scotland 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 SE Santorini Black

With mine I was given a build date when I ordered it, and explained to that I could more or less change the spec up to that date, it was built on the date agreed but delivered two weeks later due to delivery from brum to Scotland . It was more frustrating than anything.

Mercedes were terrible, I was told 4 months delivery, so sold my car privately three months in, then turned up at dealers one day to be told it would be another 4 months!!! (ml's are built in USA ), I demanded a courtesy car, as mine was now away, and we had a new baby, ended up with the salesmans c class for the next 4 months! MY10 TDV6 SE (debadged Wink ), Santorini Black, Flappy paddles, Privacy Glass, 20" Stormers, Mudflaps!

Gone: a comprehensive list of imprezas and a Merc ML AMG

This happened with my X6

you will be suprised what threatening to cancel will do

most companies only have 60 days from estimated delivery date then 14 days after you write to them formally they have to refund you,

I ended up getting a set of £4700 wheels for £1500 to seal the deal. which in the end were also delayed so they gave me a cheque for £3600 Very Happy

Jonny - I think it is down to what is "estimated" & "reasonable", is it reasonable to be told March and then with no further communication to be moved to May, i think without consultation with yourself it is not reasonable, your expectation on estimated time was one thing and they have assumed without talking to you that the new date is acceptable, i think on this basis you would have grounds to cancel without penalty - good luck

Thanks.....I agree, but the bottom line is I want the car, I won't get it any quicker if I cancel now, plus getting my deposit back would be a nightmare if not impossible.

I've been told it will hopefully be here end of April although it is still officially 19th May!!!

I could live with end of April.......I'll just have to keep wearing my disguise when out in my temporary 318!!!! Big Cry
