Sorry DB, giggling at x5pea was a little childish (titter)

Yes of course RRS are good in snow, its a Range Rover, one could put slick tyres on and have an ape drive it and it would still beat 99.9% of the competition.

There are terrain options available, one includes snow and believe me it works, and works well.

In snow, "D" is fine, let the electronics work and you will keep moving even in the most unbelievable conditions.

Thumbs Up

the snow fuction does lack a little ooomph though, so don't expect to be able to travel at a decent speed in the snow - especially up a hill, when you need more power, the car doesn't give it to you, and i have had to take it out of snow mode before to get up a hill....i think a couple of others have found this too...

Nick, that's the whole idea of the Snow setting, it totally damps the throttle movement so you don't give sudden changes - it is marvellous and it works as I found out last winter on 22nd Decmeber the day after Basingstoke got cut of from the rest of the world and I drove from Southampton to Stirling on summer tyres on 20" wheels and in up to 15cms of snow in places - on the snow caked M8 I was up to 55 mph - took a while to get there but the car was driving like there was no snow - made me wonder why I had bothered to buy Snow tyres for the car. I was driving north that night as Alicatt was driving south from way up in the North of Scotland - we both got through some of the worst weather I have ever seen. Right now though I am well away out of the UK in Malaysia for the next couple of months and enjoying the 32c daytime temperatures, even if the high humidity is a bit wearing!
AND as far as I know the FFRR is still sitting buried under a couple of feet of snow and not on it's way to some thieving git in West Africa or somewhere else where they like knocked off RHD FFRR's 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Tim I agree, but I have a few clients in the middle of the country that live on properties on the hillsides of the mountains, and when they are covered in snow, you almost feel you are going to slide back down again - it's almost like you need a hill ascent function on the car!

Here in London don't really get my chance to try out our cars in the snow....
