Many many many moons ago when looking at a BMW 330 convertible, the salesman told me that BMW were not going to produce a M3 convertible as it would erode the 330 sales... never did buy the beemer, and 1 and a bit years later voila ....M3 convertible was released.....

I hope you're sources are better connected than mine were in that instance Thumbs Up

Also remember that LR never confirmed the then strongly rumoured 3.0 until it was released, although (and eventually), reg checks on spy shots of a disguised 2010 on The Ring showed a 3.0 lump inside... I guess the problem will be that if there are ever rrs 4.4 test units going around anytime soon, then they will now look like regular 2010 cars and no one will snap piccie for magazines so a reg check can be done.

I drove the new 4.4 TDV8 in a FF this week, i also had a quick measure up and i think i can get in into a defender no problem so i cant see why it cant fit in a RRS.

Unfortunately... the general trend in the industry is smaller engines.... so maybe if we're lucky we'll see a beefed up 3.6 V8 again..
