United Arab Emirates 2008 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Alaska White
Those nice people in Dubai's main Land Rover showroom

I was driving home in the dark on Tuesday when I heard a nasty wallop from the back off side wheel. I knew I'd run over something on the highway but since I still had full controll of the car I decided to press on home.
The next morning I took a look around the wheel and was really annoyed to see a nasty gash in the side wall of the tire and a huge chunk missing from the outter bead of the rim Big Cry

After a phone call to the main dealer in Dubai they told me to come down and would try to sort something out. Within ten minutes the guy appeared with a virtually brand new Supercharged Rim and center cap.
"How much is that going to cost me" I asked....." thats on the house" explained the salesman. Apparently they had a few sets of rims out the back from cars where the owners had changed the rims from new.
Next up was a very decent looking second hand tire for the princely sum of 60 quid Thumbs Up

This was my first dealing with Al Tayer since purchasing my 2008 SC....and what a nice one it was!

TDv8HST, you need to get put of Essex and sample some of the rest of the LR network!

I know of 2 LR outlets that are 1st class for car servicing and they are at the opposite ends of the country - LPR has an excellent service workshop and reception team ( and pretty good sales team too!) and my local dealership Morrison's Land Rover in Stirling (a single franchise ,family run outlet) are also hard to beat, although less competitive than James on deals when buying a new car. I have used the local franchised dealers for 15 years and have no reason to leave them, I have used LPR several times when a service has been due while I have been down in the Big Smoke, everything was done that I asked for, car was spotless when returned and price was less than using my local rural dealers who had a higher hourly labour charge than LPR! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Hi NickM,

Yes my first time in Dubai, going for a family holiday for a week. Will be staying at the Four Points Sheraton hotel Downtown Dubai (Mankhool Road). My stay coincides with the opening of the Ferrari World theme park in Abu Dhabi, so might have to take a trip over there too. Very Happy

@ciaa.
Sorry for the silence...was in China till yesterday. I get my car serviced at At Tayer in Ajman but the rim came from the Dubai dealer.
I have the 5 year extended warranty package so don't expect any bills for another few years yet thank god!

@ Shuzzy. I guess you already found out that the Ferrari world function was cancelled in accordance with National mourning? I will drive the rapid response medical car at Abu Dhabi's Yas curcuit for this years F1 Grand Prix....I hope no-one of royal significance decides to punch his ticket before the race or it will also get axed in favour of 40 days of radio two music on the radio!
