2008 RRS HSE 36k
OK. Here's the timeline.

January 2010. Faults as follows:
1. Severe knocking from front and rear suspension
2. Rear O/S door difficult to open
3. N/S bottom front door panel hanging off
4. Chrome trim in drivers footwell coming off and bending up at end
5. Brake drums rusting badly

5/1/10 - Phoned dealer (GS Bristol sounds like man fish) Earliest they can take thwe car in is 1st FEB.
1/2/10 - Car goes in. Dampers fitted to front suspension. Nothing else done. Told me they need parts and will get the car back in when parts arrive. 4 weeks go by with no contact from the dealer so i give them a bell. Car booked in again for 1st April. During this time parking brake fails.
1/4/10 - Car goes in again for 2 days. Told them about the parking brake.
3/4/10 - Picked car up. Rear suspension fixed. Nothing else done. Told they needed parts again. Bull S**t

26/5/10 - Dealer hasn't even bothered to call me, even though i'm driving a car without a parking brake. Decided to write to LR Customer Relationship Centre asking them to clarify their policy on warranty repairs and to arrange for my car to go in to a different dealer.
Got an apologetic call the next week from LR. They said they'de get the car in to another dealer and monitor the progress.

12/7/10 - Car goes into TH White in Wooton Bassett. Got a Disco 4 as courtesy car.
19/7/10 - Got the car back and all problems resolved. Well, nearly all... on the rusty brake drum issue they politely told me "not a warranty issue" Hey ho...

Thank you TH White and LR Cust Serv for your professionalism and shame on you GS Bristol for "bull- " and ignoring your customers

Rusty brake "drums" are actually the wheel hubs as we have disks all round on RRS! I know the frustration you have about the corrosion but I've had the same thing on 6 out of the seven Land Rover's that I have owned since 1996 (that's a V8 Disco 1, TD5 Disco2, Freelander1, FFRR Td6, RRS Tdv6 and now my RRS TDv8), my Defender (which is No 7!) has never suffered from the problem! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Anyway, i assume you've repainted a few then. Any tips on paint and method used???

Nope never bothered to paint them - would think any heat resisting paint would do 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Hmmm. Ideally i would like to ignore it but i've got stormers and the rust sticks out like proverbial. Anybody else repainted the hubs?????

Isn't google a bit difficult to apply to a wheel hub though.................................. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

hi i painted mine on my 2010 with heat resistant spray looks better than new .

The heat resisting paint we use on the funnel on the ship (temps more than 300C) only comes in aluminium colour, but it looks really good to see the top of the uptake clean and shiny but it doesn't stay like that for very long with the tonnes of carbon we shift out the stack every day! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Wire brush them then one coat of smooth rite black.

Cant decide what would look best. Aluminium, gloss black, matt black or the original grey colour. Car is Strornoway. Dont want to do it twice and dont want to look like i've "blinged it up" either. Any suggestions??
